Clipping the leaves on the branches !!

Image
Good morning and good evening! Now that I have finished with all the filming all the team has left is the editing. What I did right after filming is take all the clips, put them together and send them to the editor. This, ironically, is where I met the most problems. My preferred editing software, KineMaster, has a watermark when you upload a video. I forgot this and I had to redo the whole thing to put it in the corner so I was able to crop it. This took an embarrassing amount of time frankly, I am ashamed about it. Afterwards I did two things: I got a video of all the clips together with black screens in-between to make it easier to cut them out and edit. The second was get the clips individually. When I send it to my group mates some send it back just to see what it would look like I was very happy with the draft. When I watched the video, the group was talking about the coloring the video would have. I wanted to do a cooler green tone while someone wanted red and the others wan

The tree is almost finished growing !!

Good morning and good evening! Today the group has finished filming, now all we have left is the final editing. I am really happy with how this turned out. I was able to do the angles and lights correctly, thank god. Sadly, like last time some people weren't able to come HOWEVER I planned for this and it worked out. I had so much fun filming, I love my group mates and I am happy with how this all turned out. Can some things be better? Well yes, I always aim to improve and I could ALWAYS nitpick everything I do, but I am happy with it so far. My group mates are all understanding to my concerns and things I wanted to change during filming and I am very glad none of my concerns were dismissed or discarded. I don't want to spoil the ending we choice to do so I'm not talking about it, which is why I am being so vague. I know I'm talking about everything that went well but there was one problem. Me and my teammates all went back and forth on whether the main character, G,

Would I film this tree ??

Good morning and good evening! During the past week me and my team have filmed the mall scenes. As I said before, I am the director so while I didn't do as much as my teammates I still did A LOT. I went to Galleria mall at 12:30 as planned and got food until I saw the others. Afterwards I showed everyone the plan again and I got everyone into positions. I showed my teammates the poses or general things they needed to do and then I set up the camera. I did this for multiple scenes. I did run into some problems, the lighting, not being able to get the angle I needed, but I was able to work through all those problems. My teammates have a plan to put caption on the video for talking, I, on the other hand, am a little hesitant about it, but everyone else agreed so I will probably allow it for happen. While I was filming I had headphones on to have everything match the music. This is based off a girls normal life with G watching her so I had to make sure some scenes had lots of peopl

how would I replant a tree ??

Good morning and good evening! Have you ever looked at something you were making and though "I have no idea HOW I'm going to do this"? Well that's what I've been doing for the past few days. I have been thinking about how I'm going to 'direct' this. Where is the framing going to be? how should this be edited? Thing's akin to that. I have a plan/storyboard for what BEATS I want to achieve but so much less of the how, so I've been going through this really slowly. What am I going to film on? Apple seems to have the best camera, especially if someone's filming within another app, so probably a apple phone. How do I want to film? Well, I'm going to use lots of angles to express how G (the main character) feels about the friend group but I'm also going to going try to put G in shadows even though he's wearing white (and vice versa for the friend group). What will the transitions be? I actually want to leave all the transition up

Planting seeds for a tree !!

Good morning and good evening! Me and the people i've been working with have slowly but surely making progress doing the video. The reason it's going so slowly is actually because no one was able to agree on a plan, as the first one had been veto on probably not school-appropriate. So when I had to draw the storyboard I had to make it more pg. I needed to get the fine line of not a gross romantic obsession and not making the main character seem overly pitiable. What the team did agree on is which part of the music was going to play. Therefore, all I had to go was cut the music so I knew what was going to be playing, write the lyrics on the storyboard to match a shot to a lyric and draw! It was actually easier than I thought it would be and a lot of fun too, I actually want to make some storyboards for other things now. Back on topic, my favorite shot is actually the first one. I love how i drew the body and expression, as it's one of the things I have trouble drawing so

Etching a sketching !!

Shot 1: The character playing "god" or G watches characters A, B and C. It would cutaway from G to A, B, C; the whole thing would be at eye level. While it was drawn at full body, the three shot could be a medium long shot.  Shot 2: This would be continuing from the three shot of A, B and C meeting a new person, character D to all of them going through some doors. This would be a tracking shot and at eye level. If you wanted you could make this one an over the shoulder shot (or D).  Shot 3: G is getting up (from there sit at the end of a tree) to follow the quad. This would to from an eye level angle to a low angle. Other then that, everything stays the same.  Shot 4: A jumpcut to inside the building, a mall where G watches (what looks to be) the camera. This is at a low angle, with a tiny zoom. This can be a medium long or medium shot.  Shot 5: Long shot of where G is in comparison to A, B, C and D. This is right before either a cut or zoom into the next shot. Shot 6: A scen

A video study into similar themes !!

Good morning and good evening! Today we needed to research a bit. For our research we chose I don’t care by Violent Vira and Lolita by Violent Vira. To clarify, Violent Vira is alternative rock, and God complex doesn't have a music video; therefore we used other songs of her's to see what they looked like. 'I don't care' starts of as a tracking medium long shot. It then fades into a medium close up. During the medium long shot we see the main female lead, played by Vira, having flashbacks. After the flashbacks it switch to low medium shots then we see male lead from a low medium close up showing how Vira is viewing him. Although she’s viewing him from a lower angle she sees him as someone who does not have a lot of dominance and someone she doesn’t want to be with. This also shows a bit more of the storyline. We see Vira in a wedding dress and they’re at a wedding chapel, however, she is having very obvious doubts. It then pans out into a long shot, there is the

Hand in Hand, Arm in Arm !!

Good morning and good evening! Today I will be talking about who I'm working with for this music video project. I will be working 3 other people: Kaylee West, Honey Savage and An Alysse McComie-Waterman. Side note, I'm just here writing this and all I can think are "wow, these people have cool names." Anyway I choose to work with these people because we are all friends. We all have similar interests and we can often talk the whole class period about a certain thing if you let us. We also have Media AICE at the same time and it makes it infinitely easier to communicate. Having it at a different time would put strain on getting things done, verse asking them to do it in class. It also helps us get things done quickly and I can ask important question and get immediate answers instead of waiting in a group chat. We do still one have- well two, one for us (the producers) and another for the actors that are going to help us act and be extras in the video. Luckily we all

Introduction into music (videos) !!

Image
Good morning and good evening! It is me, I am back, Alexandra Soto here! Like last time I am doing something for this, a music video, but I am not here to talk of that; no I am here to reintroduce you to me. My favorite music artists are still Conan Gray and Ricky Montgomery but my favorite painter-artist is Alexandre Cabanel, I really love his Birth of Venus. With all these mentions of artists, I feel like I should tell you all, i am an artist, one that focuses on sketches. My favorite color is still Naples Yellow but you can now add Wine Red onto that. My second favorite animals are the Long tailed Tit, they are SO CUTE; also a mountain Bluebird, in the right light they are stunning. I have only met my oldest sister, the half one, two in my life, all i remember is looked a lot of my full sister, ironic because she looks a lot like my mom, who they DON'T share a parent with. On the topic of siblings, i also haven't seen my younger brother, also a half sibling on my dads si
